Every February ending running into March each year is dedicated to celebrate Lisabi Day in honour of the legend who is regarded as Egba Legendary Warrior and Liberator.
In the hearth of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the Egba people come together annually to celebrate the eponymous Lisabi festival LISABI AGBONGBO-AKALA, who freed the people of Egba Land from the servitude imposed on them by the Oloyo.
The week - long festival showcases the rich history and cultures of the Egba people and also reflects their opulence and merrymaking spirit.
One of the highpoints of the festival is the 'woro' dance where an annointted son from different clans and families rides a horse like Lisabi while he was alive; this person usually represents the warrior of his clan or family for that year.
It is relevant to point out that Ijaye being one of the clans that had contributed in no small measures to the growth of Egbaland is a Community with a profile of notable and influencial individuals who have played observable and productive roles towards nation building.
Ijaye Community; located in the southern part of Abeokut, Ogun State, south-west Nigeria boasts of the legend,Kurunmi. A war-lord who occupied the status of the Aare-ona-kakanfo of yorubaland.
Bunmi Adigun, a journalist with sixteen years experience and widely traveled, who is from Ijaye is the 2020 Balogun Woro and he will be leading others from that clan of Egba Land to ride a white spotless horse first to the cenotaph at Itoku, Abeokuta and later to pay homage to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egba Land Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo for blessings on the success recorded on another Lisabi Day Festival.
This he will not be doing alone as he will move from his family home in Abeokuta, receives blessing from his over ninety six year old grandfather who trained him from birth and later pay homage to the Aare of Egba Land and Balogun Of Ijaye, Chief Babayeju with his family, friends, colleagues and associates where they will proceed for other events.
He will be dressed like a warrior, the Kurunmi, the war-lord, either in military or paramilitary uniform or most importantly traditional war attire which truly represents Kurunmi while he was alive.
Bunmi Adigun who attended, Community Primary School, Ijaye Abeokuta proceeded to Reverend Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Isabo Abeokuta, Muslim High School, Isolu and later attended The Polytechnic Ibadan(Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus) Eruwa in Oyo State (ND), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic ( HND), And Crescent University, Abeokuta(BSC)

Bunmi Adigun hails from Agbole Oladosu at Oke Idi- Iroko which is his father's side while from her mother, he is from Agbole Anigbio both in Ijaye, Abeokuta, Ogun State and he works with the Ogun State Television. He was the immediate past Governors office Correspondent from the Ogun State Television, an assignment he carried out with high sense of professionalism and unparalleled dedication.
It is worthy of note to point out that Ijaye is the only district among others in Egba land Alake which hasn't been granted a
right to autonomy in the form of an Oba.
