Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun on Saturday celebrated his 62ndbirthday with the aged at a party held at his private residence in Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Penpushing reports that, Amosun at the ceremony announced monthly stipends for about two thousands elderly people with the age range of 80 years and above and also revived his wife project for the elders known as uplift.
The former Governor also disclosed the re-launched of bank card for the beneficiaries to use in drawing the stipend of N5,000 monthly from their various bank accounts, and equally distributed various gift items to them.
Penpushing further reports that, Amosun at the event was personally doling out cash and material gifts to the beneficiaries who came from and across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, and later cut his birthday cake, a ceremony which was conducted by Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief(Mrs) Alaba Lawson.
The home of the former Governor was filled to capacity with guests from far and near, as well as number of his political supporters and associates across the State, who came to celebrate, dine and wine with him
Meanwhile, notable dignitaries at the event include; Chief(Mrs) Yetunde Onanuga,(former Deputy Governor under the celebrator), Alhaji Sarafa Ishola(former Minister),Chief(Mrs) Iyabo Anisulowo(former Minister) Chief Doja Adewolu), Iyalode Alaba Lawson, Mrs Dupe Adekunle (former Ogun State Head of Service), Dr Babatunde Ipaye(former Health Commissioner) and Leke Adewolu(former Special Duties Commissioner) among others
