NDDC : JUST A MICRO EXAMPLE OF DECAY IN NIGERIA BY DR.GBENGA ADEOYE.

There is one thing that has not stopped to amazed me; which is the fact that any time I tell my wife about one new story about looting or anything abnormal in Nigeria;

She will say my dear, do you think am surprised.?

In her words "Am not surprised at all, you are the one with high expectation about these people".

For the past few weeks as an advocate of good governance; I have been so shocked more than ever before in Nigeria ..from EFCC to NDDC and to those unknown abnormal trends.

I had to rush to my mentor who was a Commissioner in old Western Region and my  state and later became a Minister before Nigeria fully derailed.

He said  like my wife and I Quote " Gbenga, That is just one commission ooooo. What you will find in many other agencies may be worst."

I got depressed instantly.

If you go to NNPC, same same.

Go to North East Development Commission same same.

Go to DPR same same.

Go to Aviation same same.

Go to Federal Ministry of Agriculture; same same.

Even Foreign Exchange Market is another Scam...Dollar may get to N1,000 and then our eyes will.become clear then as those benefiting from it are smiling as it rises daily.

No patriotism. No concern for the future generation.!!!Too bad.Our youths have no jobs. They all want to leave the country. In fact grandfathers and men in their 50's and 60's are now considering leaving. Haaaaa....Danger looming.

Go to anywhere same same.

In fact go to States...You will find the same thing everywhere .

MY CONCLUSION

1. Nigeria is in URGENT need of National Conference to Restructure the Country.

2. Our Constitution need urgent amendment or a brand new one.

3. The Legislative Arm, Executive and  Judiciary seems to find it difficult to solve our problem.

It is like they are saying

"Oh yee people; we are not here for you ooo. We are here as investors and we are reaping our return  by looting oooo. Don't expect water, good road, health care, quality education and security and above all..forget transparency and Accountability ooo."

4. The accusers of people are also unclean. From what I saw  live on Television in Nigeria on 20th July, 2020...Even the hunter is hunted....

5.The word it's okay in Nigeria in any Probe panel now means...Don't touch that area.!!!Stop it...Please...Don't let them know about that.In fact everything was like a movie.

6. The Quality of people in leadership is worrisome. We need to set a new Standard.

Now I understand why friends and Professional Colleagues in Private Sector do not want to join Politics.

I THINK THE TERRAIN IS VERY SCARY,  BUT WE MUST NOT LOSE HOPE.WE MUST GET INVOLVED.

The nation will collapse,  if we all continue to sit on the fence and leave the people with wrong motive to remain there.

What is normal here is unbelievably the abnormal things.I hear billions like someone talking about kobo.

When you hear one person accuse another; if you do not listen to the other side; you will think; you just heard a saint.

In Law ; failure to allow the principle of Natural Justice will make your decision null and void.

These rules are

1. nemo judex incausa sua...

Meaning you cannot be a judge in your own matter or case.....Hmmmmmm.

2. audi alteram partem..

Meaning you must hear the other side.

As we discuss the issue of NDDC for the next few weeks before another one is opened, let us becareful of focusing on Micro Issue as this is just a tiny element among many issues in Nigeria.

So I say...it is the same almost everywhere ....Same Same, Same and  Same...everywhere.
