OGHA REQUESTS FOR DETAILED FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS FROM MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY

 

In its bid to promote prudence and transparency in the running of the Ogun State Government owned institutions, the State House of Assembly has directed the Management of the State College of Health Technology, Ilese to ensure the reconciliation of its record books and other bank statements between the period of 2015 and 2019.

Members of the House Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi gave the directive, while the Provost of the Institute, Dr. Abiodun Oladunjoye, appeared before the Committee during the ongoing consideration of the audit reports from Year 2016 to 2018 by the lawmakers at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Lamidi alongside other lawmakers urged the institution to avail the Committee of more supporting documents reflecting the financial details including inflows and outflows of fund in the last five years, adding that necessary documents should be made available to support all revenue heads, expenditure and capital cost line on or before Friday, 28th August, 2020.

The lawmakers counseled the accounting officer(s) of the institution to always comply with the principle of accountability and proper book-keeping with a view to giving explicit details of the institution's spending.

Responding, the institution's Provost, Dr Oladunjoye promised to supply all documents as directed by the lawmakers in due course.
