The members of the tripartite ad-hoc Committee set up by the Ogun State House of Assembly chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Oludare Kadiri, has directed the Ministries of Environment and that Agriculture to immediately stop the test running of revenue sources in their respective Ministries which had commenced over five months ago.
This, he noted was meant to pave way for a more effective arrangement towards engaging a consultant of their choice in line with extant rules and regulations for a more enhanced revenue collection for the ministries.
He issued the directive while leading other members of the Committee on Stakeholders’ meeting on how to curb illegal revenue and fake ticketing in the State.
Kadiri enjoined the ministries and agencies of government in the State to avoid monopoly and report back to the Assembly in line with the involvement of the relevant House Committees in charge of their respective ministries and agencies.
Earlier, Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe, said her ministry had ensure a total overhaul of revenue sources, stating that there was need to put strategies in place to stem fake ticketing and had equally put in place other mechanisms to enhance revenue.
On his part, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, sought for effective monitoring of ticketing for accountability and the need to ensure centralized printing of ticket to curb fake ticketing.
