PR Giant, PR PRIMUS partners FUNAAB

As part of its efforts to put the practice of Public Relations into the right perspectives, most especially, in tertiary institutions of learning, an Ogun State based  Public Relations giant, PR PRIMUS has established a mutual relationship with the Federal University of Agriculture,  Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with a view to laundering the image of the University.

One of the sustained efforts was a 60-minute documentary produced for the University, which x-rays three years out  of the five year tenure of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Felix Kolawole Salako.

While presenting the documentary tagged: "AGENDA OF WALKING THE TALK: CHRONICLING THREE YEARS OF PROF. FELIX KOLAWOLE SALAKO (FSSSN) AS THE VICE CHANCELLOR OF FUNAAB", the Managing Director/CEO of PR PRIMUS, Mr. Akin Okudero, FNIPR commended Prof. Salako for having trust and confidence in his organisation, more importantly, for allowing Public Relations to thrives in the University.

He added that PR practice flourishes where the CEO knows his onions and by respecting professionals in the practice. "I want to sincerely thank you for having unequalled confidence in our expertise and professionalism. While we look forward for more working relationship with your University, we also promise not to rest on our oars in supporting your University to move to greater heights", he added.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Felix Kolawole Salako noted that no organisation can survive without the instrumentality of Public Relations. Hence, the need for everyone to make judicious use of this tool in order to have a better image in the eye of the publics.

"The project x-rayed our journey of more than three years and we thank God for His mercies and for all contributions of all stakeholders whom we cannot afford not to acknowledge. In a FUNAAB project,  everybody matters", he enthused. For your information, most of the projects you see in the video clip are those things we achieved during the Covid-19 lockdown", he added.

Prof. Salako further submitted that for us to strengthen the Nigerian system,  we must all contribute our quota "because we all contributed to its woes", he said.

"For this documentary,  it is not our final journey, this is a mid-way to our vision, before the administration completes its tenure, we shall showcase more projects, PR is very important in everything we do".

Present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic), Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Development), Professor Clement Adeofun; Registrar, Dr. Bola Adekola; University Librarian, Dr. Fehintola Onifade; Dean, Student Affairs, Professor Adebukunola Omemu; Director, SIWES, Professor Francisca George; Deputy Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Adeboye Fafiolu; Deputy Registrar I, (Vice-Chancellor’s Office), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu and Students' Union President, Mr. Michael Oloyede as well as top executive members of FUNAAB SUG.
