OGSG ESTABLISHES VETERINARY CLINIC AT ISARA-REMO

In its commitment to total wellbeing of livestock, the Ogun State Government has established a Veterinary Clinic at Isara in Remo North Local Government Area.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, while delivering a keynote address at the commissioning of the Clinic, said the project was based on Isara residents' responsiveness in donating a building, which spurred the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to promptly approve funds for provision of necessary tools and human resources to make it functional.

Odedina expressed optimism that the Clinic would have positive impact in the community, particularly on various livestock value-chains, as the development would relief farmers and animal lovers of travelling long distances to vaccinate their animals.

"This is a validation of all the agricultural interventions that have been embarked upon by the State government, which symbolises acceptance of its policies. This gesture by the Isara residents should be a signal to other people to partner with government", he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. Taiwo Jolaoso, noted that most diseases ravaging human health are from animals, hence the need to safeguard the health of people through proactive vaccination of animals.

In his remarks, the Odemo of Isara-Remo, Oba Albert Adebose, represented by the Chairman Odemo-In- Council, Prince Kehinde Osifade applauded government's promptness in attending to people's needs, expressing the community's readiness to make judicious use of the facility and ensure a successful anti-rabies vaccination in the locality.

Highlight of the event was free anti-rabies vaccination of dogs and commissioning of a tricycle for surveillance of veterinary activities in the area.
