PARENTS, IT'S HOLIDAY TIME AND NOT EXTRA MURAL CLASSES FOR THESE CHILDREN.

Written by Agbesanwa Felix Oluwaseun

A holiday is a period of time during which you relax and enjoy yourself away from home and every tedious activities.

All works and no play makes Jack a dull boy. This means that there must be a time to relax the brain and rest.

Parents, as your children are preparing to embark on vacation this period, make sure that they use it judiciously without unnecessary pressure from your end.

It's called a holiday and not a time for academic nor tutorial class. Let them be free at home and give them a close monitoring so that they don't go beyond their bounds.

I believe you know that we have individual differences and the rate of learning differs. Never compare academic progress of your child with others.

We have some that are genius, some are average and some are slow learners. The truth is this, no child is a dullard because there is a special area where such child will be good at.

Irrespective of their results, please show them love and encourage them to do more. Please never speak words that will demoralize their self esteem.

Even during the holidays, once a while teach them the basic truths of love, sacrifice for others, and the need to be wary of bad group influence.

Don't join the group that use holidays for extra mural classes. Let them be free, take them out on vacation and you'll be surprised that they will do more better in all round when they resume back to school.

I have discovered that success, achievements and breakthroughs are not determined by academics alone, those you consider as dullards today may end up to lead the brilliant ones in the future.

I strongly believe that our children are meant for signs and wonders. Hand them over to God and continue to encourage them that they can make it despite their known weakness.

I Love You.
