Usage of sub standard materials will continue especially in the construction of building projects. 

This is because those expected to ensure best practices  in the manufacturing  sector and sales of building materials are not up and doing in the discharge of their  duties. 

    

An Abuja based civil Engineer, Babatunde Jimoh came up with this during a chat with The Business Package a the weekend. 

And now that prices of many materials are on the high side,Engineer Jimoh informed that people now settle for items with  pocket friendly prices  without considering the standard. 

 While calling on the authorities to ensure the implementation of price regulations on good and services as done in other countries, Engineer Jimoh said issues of collapse buildings often bring untold hardship to victims and the society. 

The Engineer also called on professionals in the construction industry not to lower standards because of high profits pointing out that most government's projects are often done haphazardly because of the kick back syndrome in the system.
