You Become like the people you spend the Most Time With

It was a senior  colleague  I used to hang out with who first brought this idea to my consciousness. You become like the people you spend the most time with. Who are you hanging aroumd with ?

In your journey of life, you will be doing yourself a whole lots of good by being selective about the type of people you hang around with. You can do this by making a list of all the people you hang out with, wether in Church, your family members, co-workers, neighbours, friends and so on and try to put a minus sign in front of the name of those people that you consider toxic and a plus sign in front of those who are positive and nurturing.

After you have succeeded with this analysis, you will do well by either severing your relationship or outrightly reduce the amount of time you spend with such peolple.

Are there people in your life who are always complaining and blaming others for their circumstances? Are there people in your life who are always judging others, spreading negative gossjps and saying bad things about others? I urge you to please stop spending time with them.

It is also important for you to know the people whose presence in your life is either a curse or blessing. Friendship or relationship ideally should be mutually beneficail, but the moment people constitute themselves into a parasite in your life, you have to be wary. You have to examine critically what the other guy is bringing to the table in terms of opportunity.

Are you hanging out with a friend who is comfortable to mention your name in  a room full of opportunities or someone who will not give a hoot about connecting you with opportunities? Are you in frienship with someone who is ready to contribute towards helping to  build or nurture your dream or not ?

All of these possibilities  are matters of choice and the choice we all make in these circumstances  determine our altitude in life.

May the Lord opens our heart and eyes of understanding.  Remember, you need to hang out with the right people.  God bless us all.

Tomorrow is another day.
