It was celebration galore as seasoned and astute Computer Teacher and former President, Computer Teachers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, Mr. Abiodun Osoko was honoured with the Award of Excellemce as a distinguished member of the Association in Egba Bloc.
The honoured was bestowed at the maiden Egba Bloc Educatiom Summitof the Association held at the Basic Trust International, Abeokuta in the course of the week.
The Summit which was Organized by the Computer Teachers’ Association of Ogun State, Nigeria (CTAN) had as theme “Generation Unmute: Reclaiming Our Future Through ICT.”
The 2day event began with the training of Teachers on Python amongst others.
The Summit proper featured Professionals in fields of ICT educating the teachers.
At the event, information Communication Technology was described as a vertiable tool for job creation.
Practitioners and teachers were therefore advised to explore new trends and update their knowledge in ICT in order to sustain their relevance.
The National President Computer Society of Nigeria, Prof. Adesina Sodiya who stated these while delivering a keynote address at the event also underscore the importance of ICT.
One of the Speakers, Dr. Alaran Misturah, former HOD Computer Science Department, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic shed light on how to Bridge the gap between The Girl- Child and ICT.
According to her, Financial Capability, Lack of Basic Skills or Education are militating factors against bridging the Gap.
Dr. Alaran further urged the teachers to Build Confidence in girls, Prevent Discrimination, Empower the Students and Enable female Subgroups to bridge the Gender Gap in the ICT sector.
On his part, Dr Ademola Adenubi, Founder/CEO EduTAMS (Technology-Assisted Academic Management System) gave kudos to all Public School Teachers as without them The OGSERA (Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda) would not be a success.
He expressed. optimistic that the Ogun State Education Sector would be the best in the Country, only with the cooperation of the Teachers.
Other members of the Assocaitiom also received Awards of recognition as part of the highpoint of the occasion.
