….Management Commends Oba Olugbenle.
Three months after the official take-off of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Community Study Centre in Ilaro, the first set of students registered at the Centre have commenced the first electronic computer based examinations for the 2022 Session.
According to a relaeae by Omoba Femi Dokunmu, the examination is being written by 43 students out of the over 62 students registered so far by the Centre undergoing different academic courses under the Open and Distance Learning Programme of the University.
The Director of the Centre, Moses Ayokunle Ola disclosed this in a brief sent to the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, in which he conveyed the appreciation of the NOUN Management to kabiyesi for the numerous support he has led the Ilaro Community and Yewaland to provide for the smooth take off of the Centre.
Mr Ola said the University’s academic time table is organized in such a way that students at different levels do not write their exams at the same period.
It would be recalled that the Community Study Centre took-off formally in September 2022 after a two-weeks’ sensitization/awareness exercise and the directive of Oba Olugbenle to the Centre’s Project Planning Committee to ensure smooth and seamless take off of the Centre.
All the physical infrastructure, including the computers being used for the e-examination, were provided by the Ilaro Community and some philanthropists under the auspices of the Ilaro Development Council (IDC).
