As March 8 every year is set aside globally to commemorate the International Women's Day, the Ogun State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has identified with women all over the world on this auspicious occasion, calling on them to remain builders of the home and the nation.
The day commemorates the cultural, political, and socio-economic achievements made by women in various fields.
The International Women's Day is a significant occasion for all involved in the fight for gender equity and equality.
The theme for this year's celebration, "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality," highlights the role of innovative technology in promoting gender equality and meeting the health and developmental needs of women.
In view of the foregoing, the Ogun NIPR in a statement jointly signed by its chairman, Mrs Seun Boye and Secretary, Mr. Kunle Olayeni enjoins women across the globe to strive not to be left behind In the digital innovation across the world, stressing that as they remain an important part of nation building, their role will be more enhanced if they embrace digital innovation in their day-to-day activities.
"As mothers and builders of the home and nations, women should continue to strive for excellence by ensuring that they are not left behind in the digital waves blowing across the world. There is no gainsaying the fact that a well groomed woman is integral to a well groomed nation as the wealth of knowledge imbued in a woman will impact positively on the children and others around her."
The Ogun NIPR congratulates women all over the world for standing above board and being able to combine roles as mothers, workers, professionals, builders of the home and nations, all rolled into one.
