It was fun, conviviality and camaraderie as some group of compassionate Nigerians living in the diaspora extended the love and joy of the season to over 100 individuals in Elega area in Abeokuta North Local government area of Ogun State.
The festive feed children and family support programme is a compassionate initiative by overseas Nigerians for the less privileged during this challenging period of the nation's history.
The event which took place at Federal Housing Estate Primary School, Elega, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Wednesday, 28th December 2023 had residents from no less than thirteen communities within the Abeokuta North Local government in attendance as beneficiaries of the gesture.
Those in attendance, include residents of Ayedaade CDA (19), Treasure Opeji (2), Ifedara Opeji (10), Oke-ola Ayo (7), Oke-Ola (7), Ifelagba (5), Mawuko (6), Oluwanisola (5), Oluwasunmibare (4), Fijabi Ajegunle (1).
Others include residents from Onward siteB2(1), Ilupeju CDA, Bode Central and Oluwasunmade Oke (7) among others.
According to the coordinator of the programme, the promoter of The SixthSense Initiative, Mr. Abiodun Oladimeji Lasile who is an Owu Chief, the goal of the programme is to impact 100 children and 20 families with the help of six dedicated volunteers.
According to him, the sponsored humanitarian PROGRAMME is made possible through the generous support of Erelu Chris Ogunkoya and friends.
Speaking while extending the humanitarian gesture to the beneficiaries, the coordinator, Mr Abiodun Lasile enjoined the gathering to always pay attention to anything that will be meaningful and useful to the people with a view to change lives.
He emphasised the need to share and extend love to others irrespective of religion, colour or creed, saying when there is love, the society will be a better place.
He encouraged the gathering to ensure that their children are given the right education, saying education has the propensity to liberate individuals and make them demand their rights in all situations and at all times.
Mr Lasile informed that just one person can make a lot difference in the life of others and as well make a turn around In the life of people through the grace of God, while saying that it is through the grace of one person, Erelu Chris Ogunkoya that over 100 individuals are gathered at the event for the end of the year gesture.
He enjoined the people present to also radiate love and extend good will to others anytime they also have the opportunity to do so, saying anyone can impact the lives of others at any time.
No less than 76 adult females, 16 adult males and 17 children including make and female are beneficiaries of the gesture.
Extending appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Iyabode Anifowose and Mr. Waheed Ariyo Ogunsola thanked the sponsors and the volunteers for the good gesture, while praying for God's grace and enablement over them and their families.
