POPOOLA PROMISES INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE AS ECHSOSA ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVES




The re-elected President of Egba Comprehensive High School Old Students'  Association, (ECHSOSA)Mr Olufemi Popoola has assured that the new executives in collaboration with the BOT,CEO and set/groups  executives at home and In the diaspora will be transparent  as well as pursue renewed approach and directions in moving the association forward. 

He also said he will lead a participatory and inclusive administration that will help to uplift the  glory of the  Alma Mater by galvanising development from all fronts.

Mr Popoola gave these  assurances on Saturday in his acceptance speech shortly after being  sworn- in together with other members of the executives  to steer the ship of the Association for the next three years

The event was  the 2024 Annual  General Meeting of  the Association held at the school premises, Asero Abeokuta. 

According to Popoola , precisely attention shall be on more members' participation,more synergy with sets/individuals to improve on the existing facilities,their maintenance and construction of new ones.
 
He said :" We shall be more inclusive and  participatory,especially in identifying with members in the diaspora. Deliberate attention shall be given to students capacity building, improvement of their  academic performance  and  involvement in extra curricular activities to stem incidents of unruly behaviour and social vices". 

The ECHOSA  National President stated  further that the new dispensation shall be transparent,accountable, receptive to suggestions and advice at all time.

Popoola who was the  immediate past President of the  Association, and  the Secretay,Dr. Nurudeen Sanyaolu as well as Mr. Lekan Ewuoso, the welfare officer were re-elected unopposed at the AGM which was live on the social media to accomodate participation and voting by members of the Association  in the diaspora.

In the same vein,  Mr. Akeem Ekundayo  was elected as the Vice Chairman, Idowu Opaleye became the National Treasurer, while Funmi Sokunbi  was elected the Social Secretary  with John Adekunle  becoming the Assistant General Secretary , while Adejumo - Dawodu Adebisi Mulikat was elected the Financial Secretary.

Also in the election, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations , Ogun State  Chapter, a Senior Editor with the Ogun State  Broadcasting  Corporation, Mr. Waheed Ogunjobi emerged  the National Publicity  Secretary  of the Association.

Ogunjobi, the Chairman  of the 1996 Dream Set of the school defeated, Olayiwola Wasiu Ojo in the poll after his main challenger, Dr Lukmon Adebayo of the 1997 set had earlier stepped down in the spirit of sportsmanship

The Chairman of the school's Board of  Trustee,  Chief Taiwo Sobande performed the swearing-in  ceremony for the newly elected executives.
