FORMER AKWA-IBOM FIRST LADY CHARGES WOMEN ON NATION BUILDING

Women in the country have been charged to continue to contribute their quota towards the growth and development of their families and nation at large.

This has become imperative because over time, women have maintained an hallmark of distinction by making their impact felt in various spheres of human endeavour.

The Former First Lady of Akwa-Ibom State, Dr. Martha Udom-Emmanuel gave the charge while speaking on the theme of this year, "The Woman And The Well" at the grand finale of the Annual Women Convention organised by "Victory Women International"(VWI)  held at the Life Cathedral, Victory Life Bible Church Auditorium Abeokuta on  Sunday.

According to her, Women must always live up to their billings as special vessels of God as much is expected of them.

"As children of God, its essential to distinguish ourselves in our workplaces, regardless of our position".

"Sometimes it can be challenging to stand out, especially when faced with opposition from those who don't want to do things the right way".

Dr. Udom-Emmanuel while extolling the virtues of Reverend Fola Achudume, described her as a role model, a trainer of trainers and a rallying point for millions of people, especially the women folk all around the world, adding that she is indeed very proud of her.

"I have seen her manage people, manage resources, but I am not ashamed to say anywhere that I am proud of her ".

Speaking earlier, The VLBC Founder, Apostle Lawrence Achudume described his late wife, Reverend Fola Achudume's as a woman of virtue and valour whose legacy would transcend generations.

While thanking Extended Family members, Church Members, Friends, Associates and Well-Wishers for standing by himself and the children's, he submitted that the Annual Women Convention as conceived by the late VLBC Co-Founder is in furtherance of her determination to advance the cause of the women folk.

"I commend the leadership of the women's group for upholding the legacy and vision of our dear sister and   may her memory continue to inspire us to strive for excellence in our service to God".

Apostle Achudume admonished the attendees to focus on seeking God's Kingdom and righteousness and not their own personal needs, describing God as the great Helper in the hour of need.

He expressed enthusiasm towards attending next year's edition adding that the Annual Women Convention has continued to grow in leaps and bounds.

As it is the usual custom of the Achudumes,  some people benefitted from the  education and business Empowerment Programme that was birthed a couple of years back  by Reverend Fola Achudume  aimed at giving  necessary support to be self-dependent and by extension boosting the nation's economy.
