CRESCENT VARSITY WINS NATIONAL ADVOCACY CONTEST

Students of Bola Ajibola College of Law, Crescent University, Abeokuta, have once again broken the tape at the just concluded Professor I. O Agbede National Advocacy Competition, emerging the overall best ahead of Babcock University, which was the host, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, Adeleke University, Ede and Lead City University, Ibadan.

Breaking the news to the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Crescent University Law Clinic, Barr. Jaleelah Idris, accompanied by the Dean of the college, Prof. Momodu Kassim-Momodu, unveiled that the contestants went through a rigorous qualifying round, the semi-final and the final round in which Team Crescent clinched the first position.

Recall that students of Bola Ajibola College of Law are known for excellence at national and international competitions, having won several laurels in recent past.

According to Barr. Idris the theme of the competition was “centred on Private International Law, also known as Conflict Laws, an area of law that deals with interplay of jurisdiction conflict among courts”.

Receiving the team of student winners in his office, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila congratulated the students for making the university proud once again.

Prof. Gbajabiamila lauded efforts of all faculty members “for bringing out the best in our students”, stressing that BACOLAW students have always been the best any day, anytime..

The winning students are Habeeb Ganiyu (500 level), Justus Adeyemi (400 level), Aishat Olubukola (400 level), Karamat Lawal (300 level) and Ahuoiza Alao (300 level).

The vice chancellor promised to reward the stuent champions for their sterling performance.
