Alhaji Morufu Adio Egbinola is a known face in the industry and one of the leading voices in the Fuji Music genre back then. Morufu Ebi, as he was fondly called, was a household name, and his music is classy in its own right. He seems to have experienced a lull in his music career in times past, but the never-say-die musician, who said he was born into music, is gradually bouncing back to reckoning.
The Business Package engaged him to explore the new rave from his stable, especially his new album entitled "Fota Le Fun Olorun" set to be released in September. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Introduction
Q: Kindly introduce yourself, sir.
A: My name is Alhaji Morufu Adio Egbinola Omo Jolaoso, popularly known as Morufu Ebi.
Q: Where do you hail from in Abeokuta?
A: I am from Isale Ijeun.
New Identity
Q: Everyone knows you as Morufu Ebi, and now you have a new identity. You are now known as Morufu Egbinola. What is the correlation between the two names and identities?
A: The name "Morufu Ebi" was the name I adopted when I started music as a newbie. It was the opinion and contention of some of my fans that since I have now come of age, I should turn my name to Egbinola.
Early Life and Career
Q: How did you come about the name Morufu Ebi in the first place ?
A: My brother, that was a long story. It was like a child's play. Those whom we were moving together then actually invented the name. I recall that I went out with my team one day and I was gibing a substance that I had not tasted before. As I took the substance , five minutes later I was famished and I started demanding for food. I was whisked home and I was given food and some medications. So, the next day people started abusing me through the event. That was it.
Q: When did you start music, and where did you learn your own music from?
A: I did not learn music making. It was something I can say I inherited from my maternal grandfather who was into a cultural kind of music.
Q: Growing up, did you learn any vocation?
A: Yes, before I ventured into music, I was a welder apprentice. I learned that for no less than five years.
Collaborations and Challenges
Q: At one point or the other, did you work with any musician where you were able to hone your skills?
A: Yes, I worked with the likes of Shina Akanni who would always promote me and ensure that I had the opportunity to sing before or after his own show back then.
Q: What are some of the challenges you have faced in trying to get on as a musician?
A: There have been lots of challenges, some of which I cannot quantify. One of the challenges was when I was wrongly accused of robbery and spent five months in detention.
Music Style and Message
Q: What is the direction of your music, and what are you doing to be well known with it?
A: My type of music is pure Fuji. I make sure that I have a unique and distinct identity in my musical career.
Q: What types of messages resonate with your music?
A: I usually sing songs that would uplift the spirit and give hope to the hopeless.
Life Lessons and Relaunch
Q: In all of your life experiences and challenges so far, what lessons would you say you have learned?
A: I have learned a lot of lessons that are still useful to me up till date. I never thought for once that I would still be alive and still be in a position to sing and relaunch my music.
Q: Tell us about your past records and the challenges with them, and how many musicians have you worked with?
A: I have worked with quite a lot of musicians, including King Wasiu Pasuma, Sunny T, and Gbafida.
Q: Now, we discovered that you were trying to relaunch and repackage your music. What should your fans look up to, especially with this new name and new identity?
A: I assure them that it will be glorious. I am about to launch a new record entitled "Fota Le Fun Olorun". The new album will come out by early September.

Q: What's your view about the role of the Internet or social media in modern music production based on your experience?
A: I must confess to you that I didn't quite understand how that is done before now, but working with Kasnaty has really exposed me to all the nuances.

A: I can only pray to them and assure them that the new album "Fota Le Fun Olorun" will be a bang, and they will not be disappointed listening to it.
