The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reiterated its commitment to empowering girls and promoting their leadership potential.
The Chairman, Mrs. Seun Boye, made this commitment known in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated every October 11, 2025.
According to Mrs Boye, the theme for this year's celebration, "The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis," resonates deeply with the Institute, highlighting the strength, resilience, and leadership of girls facing global crises.
Mrs. Boye, further said girls are not just the future; they are powerful change-makers today.
"From leading conversations in their communities to standing tall in the face of adversity, girls are showing us what courage and leadership look like," she stated.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of investing in girl child education and empowerment, noting that it is crucial for achieving gender equality and sustainable development.
She urged parents, guardians, and stakeholders to join the Institute in protecting girls' rights and creating a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.
Mrs. Boye also called on everyone to join hands in amplifying the voices of girls and promoting their leadership potential. "Together, we can create a brighter future where every girl can reach her full potential and contribute to the development of society," she said.
