The Chief Imam of Ijayeland, Imam Musa Musibau Olomu , has warned people to deemphasize the acquisition of worldly wealth, describing life as "all vanity."
"Life is but a fleeting shadow, and our earthly pursuits are mere vanities," he said, while delivering a powerful sermon at the burial of Alhaji Mukaila Adejojo, father of popular radio presenter Kolawole Adejojo, also known as Kasnaty Sugar, at the Al-Sunah Cemetery in Olomore, Abeokuta.
The cleric emphasized that worldly possessions and accomplishments mean nothing in the eyes of God, saying, "Titles, degrees, and material possessions are mere trifles when death comes knocking, and everything we accumulate in this life will be left behind."
He urged the people to prioritize their spiritual well-being, stressing that "it is impossible to worship God and the devil at the same time." The cleric reminded the mourners to prepare for the hereafter, noting that "the properties left behind by the deceased ultimately belong to others."
Imam Olomu's sermon served as a poignant reminder of the transience of human life and the importance of living a virtuous life.
