In a grand ceremony that brought together the entire town of Idi-Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota, Dr. Korede Quadri, a distinguished nutritionist and academic, was installed as Asoju Oba, emissary of the king, in a testament to his outstanding contributions to the community and his commitment to serving the people.
With the installation , Dr Korede Quadri is now the official Emissary of the Renowned Kabiesi Oba Abdulkabir Adeyinka Odewale, Gbadewole 1, Onidiota of Idi-ota Kingdom, Ado-Odo
This is a proud moment for us," beamed Kabiesi Oba Abdulkabir Adeyinka Odewale, Gbadewole 1, Onidiota of Idi-ota kingdom, Ado-Odo, as he presented Dr. Quadri with the symbols of his office, including a traditional staff and a ceremonial robe.
"Dr. Quadri is a shining example of what it means to be a true son of the soil, and we are honored to have him represent us as Asoju Oba, a trusted emissary and ambassador of our kingdom."
As the newly installed Asoju Oba, Dr. Quadri was overcome with emotion. "I am humbled and grateful for this honor," he said. "I promise to serve our community with dedication and integrity, and to be a voice for the voiceless, just as the tradition of Asoju Oba demands."
A native of Idi-Ota, Dr. Quadri has always been passionate about giving back to his community.
A lecturer at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, he is currently the Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and has earned a reputation as a leading expert in his field.
He holds a PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and an MSc in Bioethics from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
The title of Asoju Oba is a significant one, signifying the king's trust and confidence in the holder.
As a representative of the king, Dr. Quadri will play a crucial role in promoting the welfare of the community and fostering strong relationships between the kingdom and other stakeholders.
Idi-Ota, an historic community located within Ado-Odo, has a rich and storied past that dates back centuries.
The town forms part of the larger Awori/Yoruba cultural region, known for its rich traditions, peaceful lifestyle, and strong communal ties.
The people of Idi-Ota are predominantly Awori Yoruba, and their customs, language, and traditional institutions shape the social life of the community.
Legend has it that Idi-Ota was founded by a group of brave and adventurous hunters who settled in the area, attracted by its fertile land and abundant natural resources.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from far and wide, including traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the academic community.
