Abeokuta - Apostle Lawrence Achudume, General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church International, has sounded a clarifying call to Nigerians, urging them to shed the cloak of betrayal and embrace a culture of integrity as the nation steps into 2026.
Speaking to the press in Abeokuta, Achudume emphasized that leadership roles are a sacred trust meant to serve the people and foster national growth. He decried the country's reputation crisis, noting that Nigeria's lack of credibility has diminished its global standing. "The world judges us by our actions, and it's time we prove ourselves worthy of respect," he said.
Despite this, Achudume remains bullish about Nigeria's prospects, pointing to the nation's achievements worldwide as proof of its potential. "Nigeria is making waves globally; it's time we replicate this success at home," he said, praying for visionary leaders, thriving children, and a nation that works for all.
The apostle also issued a cautionary note to the youth about the pitfalls of AI and technology, warning against the deceptions and false realities they can create. He advised young Nigerians to anchor themselves in African values and genuine relationships.
Achudume stressed the transformative power of God's presence, saying it brings clarity, hope, and righteousness. He cited biblical examples of Joseph and David, whose successes were anchored in their faith.
To his fellow clergy, Achudume urged authenticity, saying, "Preach what you practice, and practice what you preach."
On Victory Life Bible Church International's 2026 theme, "On Eagles' Wings," he mentioned the church's determination to rise above challenges.
Achudume concluded with a prayer for Nigeria's agricultural and economic boom, envisioning a future where storms fuel national progress.
