The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) Chapel, is set to hold its maiden Annual Lecture on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at the Iwe Iroyin Hall, NUJ Press Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.
The lecture, themed "The Media As Agents For Propagating Government Policies And Economic Development", will feature Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner For Finance, Ogun State, as the Keynote Speaker. Okubadejo will present a paper titled "Making Ogun A 16 Trillion Naira Economy: Roles of the Media".
Other notable speakers include, a seasoned journalsit and the Dean School of Communication, OlabisiOnabanjoUniversity(OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Professor Dele Odunlami who will deliver a lecture on the theme of the event.
The event will be chaired by Mr Tarzan Balogun, National President, Association Of Tourist Boat Operators Of Nigeria, with Mr Kehinde Onasanya, Ogun State Head Of Service, as the Special Guest.
The Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege, will serve as the Royal Father of the day.
The event is expected to bring together media practitioners, government officials, and other stakeholders to discuss the role of the media in promoting government policies and economic development in Ogun State.
