The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has approved the appointment of Dr. Saheed Adeyemo as Acting Head, Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
The two-year tenure takes effect from Wednesday, 25 March 2025 and runs until Friday, 24 March 2028.
Dr. Adeyemo is a faculty member in the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, LASU.
He holds a PhD in Communication from Universiti Utara Malaysia, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and PGD in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, an MSc in Communication Studies from LASU, and a B.A. Ed. from the University of Lagos.
His areas of specialization include Development Communication, Communication Studies, Employability, and Religious Communication.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Adeyemo served as Student Level Adviser and Departmental Examination Officer.
He has also served on several university committees, including the University Quality Assurance Committee, and as Chairman, Faculty of Communication Quality Assurance Committee.
He is currently a member of the University Security Advisory Committee representing the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, and previously served on the Open Distance Learning academic handbook development committee.
He is expected to bring his wealth of academic and administrative experience to bear in running the Department of Mass Communication.
