The Ogun State Football Referees Council (OGFRC) deeply regrets to announce the passing of our immediate past Chairman, *Architect Sulaimon O. Sunday Oladipo*, who departed the morning of Wednesday, 8th April, 2026. A visionary leader and dedicated mentor, who until his death he was a NPFL Referee Assessor, Architect Oladipo’s contributions were fundamental to the growth and professionalism of refereeing across the state.
In honour of his exceptional legacy, the Council has declared a *7-day period of mourning* effective immediately. Architect Oladipo will be laid to rest today at his residence by *4:00 PM*, and we ask all members to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
To pay tribute to his memory, the following protocols are mandatory for all football matches played within Ogun State during this 7-day period:
* *A one-minute silence* must be observed before the commencement of every match.
* *Wearing of Arm Band* - All referees are required to wear black armbands throughout the duration of play.
We mourn the loss of a pillar of our community and pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest.
[Signed]
