Ogun State has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable economic growth and environmental stewardship following discussions with representatives of Lee Group and Smart Wood Company over proposed investments in the state’s forestry sector.
Receiving the delegation, which included Mr. Andrew Tam, Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin, and members of their team, the state government described the visit as a significant step toward unlocking new opportunities within Ogun’s natural resource and forestry value chain..
The expressed optimism over the companies’ interest in committing substantial investment resources to the development of forest-related activities in the state, noting that the initiative aligns with Ogun State’s broader development agenda focused on economic transformation, job creation, and environmental sustainability.
Speaking during the engagement, the government emphasized that the proposed partnership extends beyond financial investment and represents an opportunity to strengthen sustainable livelihoods, deepen local economic participation, and promote responsible management of forest resources for future generations.
