MAPOLY PRODUCES SANITIZER TO BOOST FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

As part of its contributions to the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has produced sanitizer for use by the public.

The polytechnic's Department of Science and Laboratory, in conjunction with Women in Technical Education (WITED), produced the sanitiser.

The patentable sanitiser, sources said, was produced to mitigate artificial scarcity of the product caused by hoarding among distributors to make high profits.
A source said that the hoarding was against the "health first" principle that should be adhered to in cases such as Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ag. Rector of MAPOLY, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, who launched the sanitiser on Wednesday, said that the product is of high quality and international standard.

MAPOLY sanitiser can compete with any known brands of sanitiser in the country. Its production process met industrial standards stipulated by regulators.

Odedeji stated that the sanitiser of the polytechnic was not only bound to be effective, but also customers friendly for its affordable prices compared competing brands in the market.

The sanitiser will be made available at pharmaceutical stores, malls, markets and retail shops in Ogun State and nearby states.

We are making efforts to ensure the sanitiser is available all over the country soon, the reactor said.
