Oba Gbadebo, Ogun Police Boss, Ajogun relieve the UI Memories at Alumni meet

The University of Ibadan has been described as a citadel of learning that has remained focal in the evolution of the Nigerian nation courtesy its numerous products who are variously holding the reins of authority in and outside the shores of the country.

The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland,Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, himself an alumnus of the premier University, made this observation at the November UI Abeokuta Alumni meeting as well as the Year 2020 Founders' Day Get-Together hosted by another alumnus, the Ogun state Commissioner of Police,Mr.Awolowo Ajogun in Abeokuta.

While charging all products of the University to continue to make selfless service, their watchword in line with the training they had in UI,Oba Gbadebo submitted that but for his years in the nation's first University, himself and the Olori,Dr.Tokunbo Gbadebo who is also an alumnae, would not have been able to make meaningful contributions in their various endeavours in life.

In his presentation,CP Ajogun, submitted that the culture of excellence that he internalized in UI has sustained him in the circle of the best in his profession urging the members of the Alumni to continue to be the best.

Also speaking, the Abeokuta UI Alumni Chairman,Mr.Femi Adenmosun while highlighting the centrality of Uites to national development said that including Dr.Mrs.Folashade Esan who is the current Head of Service of the Federation, the last six, except one,as well as the incumbent Ogun state Head of Service,Alhaja Selimot Ottun are all UI products, challenging  the members on the need to rally other Uites with a view to making them members of the Association,  adding that the more, the merrier.

Two former Heads of Service in Ogun state,Elder Sola Adeyemi who was also a National officer of the UIAA and TPL, Amope Chokor,on the occasion, jointly presented an Alumni plaque to CP Ajogun.
