The Arole Iganmode Olofin and the Olota of Otta-Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, (Lanlege EkunII) in a bid to join the fight against the abuse of substance and the use of hard drugs toured various identified hideouts in addressing the increasing rate of drug abuse in Otta and its environs.
During the tour, Alayeluwa visited various Iga(Compounds) and hideouts among which were; Abule Olorun, Iga Oshodi, San Soro, Mapa spot, Iwoye among others to give strong warnings to ardent smokers, making it clear that it is no longer business as usual as all security agencies have received his Royal approval to extend their raids to Iga(Compounds) in search of those that engage in drug abuse.
In the process, Alayeluwa was able to discover a University graduate of Architecture who claimed that unemployment led him to the habit of smoking, and was fixed immediately.
On this note, our revered Royal Father is appealing to all parents and guardians to rise up to the occasion as the palace will not tolerate/intervene in any related matter henceforth having given all security agencies the approval to extend their raid to Iga especially the hideouts.
Recently, the NDLEA visited Awori Obas Forum to request for the assistance of Monarchs in addressing the anomaly.
