OGUN GOVERNMENT COMMENCES SECOND PHASE OF COVID -19 DISTRIBUTION

The Ogun state government has commenced the second phase of the  COVID-19 vaccine administration with the newly arrived moderna  vaccine to the people of the state.

The administration of the vaccine which runs from this  monday till September 11th, 2021, is expected to be administered in two doses of three to four weeks.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker made these known while briefing  newsmen this/on monday in Abeokuta. 

Dr Coker pointed out that 126,000 people were vaccinated during the first phase with astra zeneca vaccine, just as 42,000 people are being targeted in the second phase. 

She informed that there are  total of 131 vaccination sites with 105 fixed sites, stating that there are provision for those who are vaccinated in other states or local governments outside where they receive the first dose to get vaccinated at super sites. 

Dr Coker submitted that the vaccination sites include Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Federal Medical Centre, Idi-aba, Abeokuta, State General Hospitals, Primary Health facilities as well as 26 Temporary fixed sites which are market places to enable pople have easy access to vaccination while doing business.

Dr Coker reiterated the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration's commitment to ensure that all Ogun state residents get an efficient and qualitative healthcare, urging people, age eighteen and above to get vaccinated.#Nurat
