As Islam Adherents this Tuesday joined their counterparts across the world to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad denoted as Eid-el Maulud Nabiyi,they have been enjoined to allow the lesson of the festival to sink and be the guiding force for their lives.
The Federation of Muslim Women's Association in Nigeria ,Ogun State Chapter, (FOMWAN ) in a statement issued in Ijebu-Ode this Tuesday by its Amirah, Alhaja Kudirat Yeni Rabiu observed that the significance of Eid-el-Maulud is anchored on love, sacrifice, obedience, tolerance and charity, as exemplified by the deeds and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
According to the statement, these virues are germane to the peaceful co-existence, unity and prosperity of Nigerians hence the need for Nigerians to be cohesive and see the current challenges facing the nation as a battle which mus the fought and won collectively.
" The current challenges facing the nation calls for unity of purpose in order to be surmounted. Nigerians cannot afford to continue to work at cross purposes, if the problems must be surmounted. Everyone irrespective of religion or creed must ensure that all hands are on deck in order to jointly confront the myriads of challenges.It is a collective problem which must be jointly tackled.
According to the statement, Nigerians must be prayerful and offer supplications to Almighty Allah at all times in order to restore the glory of the nation.
She also enjoined all to be steadfast and imbibe the spirit of love, saying love conquers all things while again congratulating Muslims for the celebration which symbolises love and sacrifice to mankind
