As part of efforts to put smiles on the faces of less privileged individuals in the society and ensure that they have a memorable celebration, juķst like every other families out there, the David Balogun Foundation has donated food items to some residents of Ogun State.
Part of the core mandate of the foundation powered by a US based Nigerian born philanthropist, Mr. David Adeolu Balogun in memory of his mother is to alleviate the suffering of the people by promoting food security and ensuring that people do not necessarily go to bed hungry.
And in order to give the less privileged people in the society the opportunity to celebrate Chrismas in joy and fulfillment, the David Balogun Foundation on Thurday, 23rd of December fulfilled part of the mandates of of group by distributing food items such as rice, garri, indomie, live chicken and groundnut oil to some residents in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The gesture according to the Secretary of the Foundation, Mrs Anthonia Ogunsiji who coordinated the distribution is to ensure that those who received the gift do not celebrate Christmas in sorrow and to put smiles on the faces of the people, especially in this festive season.
The beneficiaries were also handed a cash sum of N2000 naira each in order to use I'm cooking the donated items as well as procure other merriments.
Some of the beneficiaries in an interview appreciated the gesture and said it was very thoughtful of the Foundation to have thought about people in need at this period, especially now that the cost of food items and other goods have gone above the roof, while praying for long life for the initiator and his team..
