PRIESTHOOD LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE EXPRESSES DETERMINATION TO KEY INTO OGUN AGRIC INTERVENTION PROGRAMMES


Another strategic Agricultural partnership is brewing as the Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative on Wednesday ,5th January, 2022 met with the Ogun Agric Commissioner, Dr Adeola Odedina with a view to key into Agricultural interventions in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the members, the International Coordinator, Apostle Olusesi Obateye, expressed the organization’s readiness to key into various Agricultural Intervention Programmes in Ogun State, having taken proper note of positive developments being championed by the  ministry.



Responding, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Adeola Odedina highlighted some ongoing Agricultural Intervention Programmes in Ogun State, which include the Ogun State Economic Transformation Programme (OGSTEP) that targets 40,000 farmers across nine priority value chains (cassava, maize, rice, soybean, tomatoes and pepper, sesame, fishery and poultry); the Anchor Borrowers Programme in nine value chains (Cassava, Rice, Maize, Cattle, Oil Palm, Poultry, Fisheries, Cotton and Piggery), among others.






He further observed that  the State Agricultural Linkage Programme is available to existing and prospective farmers including youths for linkage to Agricultural opportunities of land clearing, land preparation, inputs, credit, markets, training, offtaking, mechanization, with provision of technical support through the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP).

Odedina said " This visit is a follow up to my mentorship engagement at the Annual Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC) held in the year 2021.

Other members of the visiting team were Rev. Stephen Adeyemi, Adesola Olufunmilola, Rev. Akin Omisakin, Pastor Omonayajo Ebenezer, Rev. Oluranti Rufus and Apostle Jejelola Gbolahan. 

The Ogun Agric Team included Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Dotun Sorunke and Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Siraj Fashola
