The Ogun Multi Door Governing Council under the Chairmanship of Hon. Justice S.A Olugbemi, yesterday, 19th July, 2023 engaged critical stakeholders within Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to further de-congest the court.
The sensitization program which took place at TJ's Hotel, Otta, Ogun State, aimed at educating members of the public on the need to further embrace the merits of ADR and how it could be a tool in boosting the legal practice generally, and how best issues could be settled amicably.
In his Royal remarks, Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege Ph.D, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), applauded the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu FICMC for her consistency in projecting ADR to help decongest courts, its win-win and parties driven approach to build unity among the good people of Ogun state.
His Majesty urged all and sundry to embrace the thoughtful legal initiatives in order to settle disputes amicably as it allows parties to remain as friends after the resolution which is similar to the traditional system of dispute resolution.
Other dignitaries at the well attended session incuded; HRM Oba (Barr.) Samuel Ojugbele (Onilogbo of Ilogbo Asowo Otta), Kabiyesi Idi Oke, Oba Saheed Ifalohun Odunsanya ably represented by Araba of Idi Oke, Acting Chief Registrar, Mrs O. Oladunjoye, Director of Ogun Multi Door Council, Mrs I.O Abudu, and other eminent personalities, community leaders, market leaders, lawyers, leaders of security agencies, among others.
