What is a door and why are doors important?
Literally doors are generally used to separate interior spaces (closets, rooms, etc.) for convenience, privacy, safety, and security reasons.
Doors are also used to secure passages into a building from the exterior, for reasons of climate control and safety.
The door sure has diverse Meanings. For instance, there is a Bible verses that says:
God will open doors for me if I open doors for others.
The Bible says in Proverbs 11:25, "Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped". That is another angle to it, but that isn't where we are going today.
But , in this context, we are talking about door of opportunities...
What do such doors symbolize in the Bible?
In the Bible, doors are metaphors for the choices we make every day. We discover early on in life that we can walk through some doors and not others. But we need to make a decision each time we see a door. Our destiny will be shaped by which doors I walk past and which doors I walk through...
The bottomline here is that, you need to walk past some doors and you need to walk through some doors. The onus bow lies on you to know which doors to walk through and which doors to walk past..May the Lord God guide us to walk through the right door.
Let me say this, I have heard a lot of men of God talk about the need to be wary of some doors. According to them ,it is not every doors that opens one should enter, because it could be a door to prison...
I was alao under a Ministratiom where the issue of doors was the crux of mesaage at a programme I attended not long ago and I said this I s a point worth noting...That is why i deceided to expand on it giving this opportunity.
Besides, I had also had personal encounters on the issue, part of which I will relate here...in the course of this exhortation..
In his sermon , one of the men of God Bishop Okunlola of the " Ire Owuro fame said we should be wary of doors. He said there was a person in that congregation that day that saw a very juicy opportunity and was ready to opt for it, but he warned that God said that door was not directly opened by him. He also adds that the person should be wary of falling for that opportunity else it may ruin him. He also said that the opportunity will be so juicy that the person finds it so irresistible, but it is a door to destruction and ruination.
What then is the secret of the divine open doors?
Prayer is the secret to an open door. It is always said that Prayer is the Master Key.
My Personal Encounter.
First , it was a friend who came from the United States of America and she had a large piece of land at Ijebu and she wanted me to come over and advice on how to manage the farm because those who were managing it were doing a disservice to the farm .
I had assured her of coming iver with a Consultnt on a particular Sunday. As a result, i had gone to get my Drivers Licence ready, I did some repairs on my car and I fuelled the car, travel ready. On the night before the trip , i went for a vigil and along the way the car developed another major fault. No doubt, it was a new door and a juicy one for that matter, but there are signs that the Holy Spirit was not please with me going on that journey.
After the car had issue, I resolved within myself that I will go on public transport . Later, I told my Spiritual father to help me pray about it and he said I should be careful telling me to also pray over it before I sleep.. At night, during my prayer session, the Holy Spirit said , he had been showing me all the signs but I refused ro heed. He now said , what if I go on that trip and I was taken back dead...Then, I was scared. It was there and then that I knew that the trouble with the car the night before was the design of the Holy Spirit to prevent me from going on that trip .Can you now see that not all doors are to be entered?
