The House of Representatives member representing Ifo Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Ayokunle Isiaka has called on the National Assembly leadership to investigate the cause of abandonment and demobilisation of contractors on the Sango- ifo -Abeokuta expressway.
Honourable Isiaka who expressed displeasure over the abandonment of the road during a plenary sitting on Wednesday, urged the 10th National Assembly to look into the situation of the road, noting that the road had suffered debilitating deteriorating resulting from porthole caused by erosion.
He specifically told the Speaker of the House of Representatives to mandate the House committee on Works to investigate the causes of abandonment and demobilization of the contractors on the Sango roads.
The Lawmaker requested the House to call on the Federal Ministry of Work to resume work and complete the construction of the Sango- Ifo Abeokuta expressway.
Hon. Isiaka stressed that he expected legislative action on the road in the next four weeks.
According to him” The situation of the Sango expressway is causing havoc to the people of the area, the concern is about the porthole, erosion caused by the damaging the road. I want you to call on the Federal Ministry of Works to resume work and complete the construction of the Sango Ifo Abeokuta Expressway”.
The Sango- ifo- Abeokuta, a major artery road to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital from the Lagos axis had been I a terrible state with several calls on the Federal government to fix the road providing abortive, even as contractors handling the projects have being going back and forth, thereby causing untold hardships to motorists and commuters alike.
