Succour as Aliko Dangote Foundation distibutes bags of rice to residents of Ijebuland to Cushion the effects of hardship

As part of efforts to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship in the land occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, the Aliko Dangote foundation on Thuraday distributed bags of rice to Muslim communities in Ijebuland.

The donation of  the food item under the programme tagged "National  Food Intervention  Prpgramme" Ijebu zone distribution  was done at the Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque, Ijebu- Ode and it is expected to be spread to communities within the Ijebu axis of the state

The Secretary- General of the Ogun State Muslim Council, Aalhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde who coordinated the exercise  made it known that a total of 40,000 bags  of rice were allocated to the state under the initiative and and the gesture would be extended to people of other faiths as hunger knows no bound.

A total of 9,000 bags of rice was handed over to leaders of Islamic groups and communities at the Ijebu Zone distribution  with the Grand Chief Imam Ijebuland, Alhaji Sheik Muftau Ayanbadejo  being in attendance. 

Leading the opening dua, the grand Chief lmam of Ijebuland Alhaji Sheik Muftau Ayanbadejo prayed for the Dangote Foundation,  Ogun  State, ljebuland , the Ogun State Muslim Council and Nigeria as a whole.

T. M Salisu in a remark admonished  those present to distribute with  the fear of Allah and ensure that the food items were not diverted, thereby ensuring that it read those ot was meant for- the downtrodden.

At the  distribution,Allhaji Omo Oba Bola Yisa the Chairman Ogun State Muslim Council ljebu zone gave the opening speech, while Imam Mikail Shile Rufai grand mufti of Ogun State gave lecture at the occasion admonishing Muslims to make acts of giving, and zakat which is one of the major pillars of Islam a priority, especially when they iare in position to do so.

Dignatories at the Ijebu  zone distribution incude, Alhaji Tunde Emiola Gazal, the Executive Chairman ljebu Ode local govt, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde,  the Secretary- General, Ogun State Muslim Council ,Alhaji Sheik, Muftau Ayanbadejo, the Grand  Chief lmam of ljebu land, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Arowolo, the Vice President,  ljebu zone, Dr T M Salisu, Chairman ljebu Ode central Mosque, Alhaja Kudirat Yeni Rabiu, immediate past Amirah , Fomwan ,Ogun State  among others.

The team had earlier visited Egba zone for the distribution.
