ECHSOSA Amicable '86 Set Celebrates 40th Reunion


Ogun - The Amicable '85 Set of Egba Comprehensive High School, Abeokuta, marked their 40th reunion anniversary with pomp and ceremony.

The two-day event, which kicked off on April 25, 2025, with the commissioning of renovated classrooms, continued on April 26 with a grand reunion ceremony.

The ceremony featured the leadership and members of the set, resplendent in their white and green school attire. 

Notable attendees included the ECHSOSA National President, Chief Olufemi Popoola; National Secretary, Dr. Nurudeen Sanyaolu; and Engr. Abubakar Abari, a past national president and Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees.
The occasion also  saw the presentation of awards to outstanding individuals, including: Longest Serving National President to , Alhaji Engr. Abubakar Abari
; Posthumous Award to  Late Engr. Isiaka Olanrewaju Bisiriyu (represented by his daughter); Distinguished  Award to the Current National President,Chief Olufemi Popoola; Awards to Former Teachers with  two outstanding educators  honored for their contributions;  Award  to Current Staff with two staff members from each school recognized for their dedication.

The Set Chairperson, Mrs. Funmilayo Tawakalitu Adebayo in her speech  highlighted the school's impact on their lives and the virtues learned during their time there.

 She also enumerated the set's past efforts to give back to the school.

The National President, Chief Olufemi Popoola while commenting praised the Amicable '85 Set for their sustained support and appealed for continued cooperation to ensure the association's success. 

The longest serving  National  President,Engr. Abubakar Abari also reflected on his time at the school, crediting it with igniting his passion for engineering.

The principals of the school thanked the old students for their efforts in restoring the school's glory and promised to maintain the facilities.

 The event concluded with a charge to the celebrants to continue striving for excellence, echoing the school's motto.
