MAPOLY Alumni Convention: A New Era of Collaboration and Excellence.

The 16th National Convention of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Alumni Association was a resounding success, marking a new era of collaboration and excellence between the institution and its graduates. 

Held on Saturday, 24th of May,2025 at the institution's main campus, the convention featured distinguished guests, including Dr. Goke Rauf, Rector of D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, and Pastor Ezekiel Obasanya, the immediate past National President of MAPALUM.

Dr. Rauf, an alumnus of MAPOLY, delivered a paper entitled "Sow and Reap; Strategic Alumni Collaboration as a Catalyst for Institutional Economic Advancement."

He emphasized the need for alumni to collaborate with their alma mater for educational advancement, citing the changing landscape of higher education in Africa due to inadequate funding.

"The alumni association is a vital partner in our quest for excellence," said Arc. Dr. Koyejo Jolaoso, Rector of MAPOLY, who was decorated as a distinguished alumnus on the occasion. "We look forward to harnessing the resources and expertise of our alumni to make Moshood Abiola Polytechnic a residential institution and a hub of excellence."

The highlight of the convention was the election of Alhaji Ayinde Soaga, a veteran broadcaster and administrator, as the new National President of the alumni association. 

Alhaji Soaga, a pioneer graduate of Mass Communication from MAPOLY, promised a more inclusive and impactful administration, working closely with the management and members to create opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and growth.

At the convention, a prominent Public  Relations  precatitioner and Media Consultant, Mr Ganiyu Olowu qas also elected the Public Relations Officer od the Association.

"We will embark on a hostel project to ensure students live on campus," Alhaji Soaga said. "We solicit the support of our members to take MAPOLY, our pride, to a higher pedestal."

The outgoing President, Pastor Ezekiel Obasanya, encouraged the new executive to complete the constitutional amendment of the association, highlighting the culture of giving back to the institution. 

The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, also an alumnus  commended the convention, encouraging the rejig of the association for encompassing participation as the new executive takes office, the stage is set for a new era of collaboration and excellence between MAPOLY and its alumni. 

And, with the commitment of both parties to work together, the future looks bright for the institution and its graduates.

A New Chapter

The MAPOLY Alumni Association's 16th National Convention was a testament to the strong bond between the institution and its graduates. As Alhaji Ayinde Soaga and his team take the reins, they are poised to build on the successes of their predecessors and take the association to new heights.

With a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and growth, the MAPOLY Alumni Association is set to play a vital role in shaping the future of the institution and its students. As the association embarks on this new chapter, it is clear that the best is yet to come for MAPOLY and its alumni.
