ALLSTARS FC ABEOKUTA DENOUNCES IMPOSTORS, WARNS AGAINST FRAUD

Abeokuta, Ogun State - The management of Allstars Football Club Abeokuta has issued a strong warning to a group of impostors masquerading as members of the club.

The impostors, who claim to be part of the Abeokuta Allstars Football Club, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, and solicited for support for a football tournament.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Wole Otayemi, the club clarified that it is the only recognized and duly registered Allstars Football Club in Abeokuta, with a rich history dating back to 1990.

The club emphasized its credentials, including registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Nigeria Players Union, as well as its achievements in state and national football tournaments.

The management expressed concern over the criminal implications of the impostors' actions and warned that anyone using the club's name to defraud members of the public or rally support for selfish gain would face litigation. "We are a group of responsible people, and failure to adhere strictly to this warning may attract escalation of this persistent negative act to our lawyers for litigation," the statement read.

The club assured the public that it is not connected to the impostors or the organizers of the South West Veterans All Stars football tournament and urged the public to beware of the group's activities.
