Lakem Support Foundation Donates Food Items to FUNAAB Students

 By Patrick Erinoso

In furtherance of its commitment to promoting students’ welfare and alleviating food shortages during examination periods, the Lakem Support Foundation, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Olukemi Fashina, has donated food items to students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

The donation, aimed at easing food-related challenges among students, comprised essential items including garri, rice, sugar, sachet tomatoes, sachet pepper, groundnut oil, salt and seasoning cubes. The items were distributed to selected students of the University to support their immediate needs.

Receiving the donation, the Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, expressed profound appreciation to the Foundation, noting that the gesture would significantly enhance the wellbeing of the beneficiaries. He conveyed the gratitude of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and the University Management for the timely and thoughtful intervention.

Similarly, the Deputy Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Oluseyi Ojekunle, who received the items on behalf of the University, disclosed that the initiative had the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and commended the Lakem Support Foundation for its sustained commitment to education and students’ welfare.

Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Mrs. Fashina explained that the donation formed part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support students in tertiary institutions, adding that similar interventions had been extended to other institutions, including the Federal College of Education, Osiele.
