The Nigerian Red Cross Society, in partnership with the NSCDC Crisis Management Department under the able leadership of Deputy Commandant Dawodu Gabriel Babalola, on Thursday, 9th January, 2026, organised a one-day Crisis Prevention and Safety Awareness training for officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command.
The Deputy Commandant, DC Ajibare Emmanuel Jose, who represented the astute State Commandant, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo MLCJ, Mspsp, conveyed the Commandant’s appreciation for the Red Cross Society’s support and timely intervention in educating personnel, especially at this critical period in the nation’s life.
During the lecture session, the Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society,Ogun State explained that the purpose of the interactive training was to strengthen partnership and collaboration with the NSCDC, particularly in the areas of emergency response and community safety.
He further noted that the Red Cross Society recognises the vital role of the NSCDC in safeguarding lives, property, and critical national infrastructure as well as providing humanitarian service during emergency in accordance with the extant laws established the corps .
In a closing remarks the Deputy Commandant of Corps, Ajayi Adeoye commended the Red Cross Society for its humanitarian services and assured them of the Command’s readiness to collaborate on programmes and initiatives that will enhance safety, security, and disaster preparedness across Ogun State while encouraging the participants to utilize the knowledge gained from the training.
