The 2026 Gateway International Trade Fair kicked off on Tuesday, February 10, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with Governor Dapo Abiodun declaring it open.
The event took place at the MKO Abiola International Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan.
Honourable Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Emmanuel Sofela, represented the Governor and officially opened the fair.
He highlighted the state's commitment to creating a conducive environment for trade, investment, and industrial growth.
The fair is a key economic platform for Ogun State, showcasing commerce, manufacturing, agribusiness, and investment opportunities.
The Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) organized the event in collaboration with the state government.
NACCIMA's 2nd Deputy President, Asiwaju (Dr.) Michael Olawale-Cole, praised OGUNCCIMA for promoting sustainable business development and acknowledged the state government's support.
OGUNCCIMA President, Lion Niyi Olugbeminiyi Oshiyemi, thanked the government for its backing and recognized Governor Abiodun's efforts to make Ogun State investor-friendly.
The 15th edition of the fair features networking opportunities, market expansion, and cross-sector collaboration. Activities included cultural performances, keynote speeches, and an exhibition tour.
Dignitaries attended, including government officials, business leaders, and past presidents of OGUNCCIMA. The event highlights Ogun State's growing role in Nigeria's economic development.
