OGUN STATE COMMANDANT INSPECTS ABANDONED OGUN CENTRAL AREA COMMAND PROPERTY

Earlier this morning, 19th February, 2026, the Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, MLCJ, mSPSP, accompanied by members of the Senior Management Team, paid an inspection visit to the abandoned and uncompleted building project designated for the proposed Ogun Central Area Command.

The Commandant was accompanied by DCC Kolawole Ajala, Head of Department (Operations); DCC Abiodun Babalola, Head of Department (Training); and DCC Babatunde Rotimi Abiodun.


During the visit, the Commandant and her team engaged the traditional leader: Alawowo of Awowo, Oba (Dr) Ambassador Abdulgafar  Olasunkanmi Tijani ,Gbadewolu 1 and his chief ,namely : Ambassador Adeniyi Sola Bunmi along Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.
The purpose of the visit  was to assess the current state of the abandoned structure and initiate strategic collaboration as well as seeking the community support for timely completion of the office construction project to  the mutual benefits of the people and travellers on the expressway.

Commandant Ekundayo further emphasized the importance of completing the Ogun Central Area Command facility, noting that its completion would significantly enhance operational coordination, strengthen security coverage, and improve rapid response capabilities within the axis and adjoining communities.

She sought the support and cooperation of community leaders and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the immediate resumption and successful completion of the project in the overall interest of security and community progress.

The engagement forms part of the Command’s proactive leadership approach to infrastructure revitalization, stakeholder partnership, and the strengthening of security architecture across Ogun State.
