The Lagos State University, Ojo has approved the appointment of Dr. Olanrewaju Biobaku as Acting Head, Department of Film and Multi-Media Studies, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
The appointment, which is for two years and renewable, takes effect from Wednesday, 25th March 2026 to Friday, 24th March 2028.
Dr. Biobaku is the pioneer head of the Department which is recently created in line with the National University Commission unbundling of Mass Communication to specialised professional degrees .
The letter outlines that his responsibilities include “day-to-day administration of the Department on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor through the Dean; curriculum development for the programme(s) of the Department; assigning responsibilities to staff, supervising and coordinating their works; conduct of examination and processing of results; preparation, presentation and operation of budget; and improving research and student welfare.”
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello strongly believes that he would discharge the responsibilities of his new office creditably and wishes him the very best in the new assignment.
A creative writer per excellent, Dr. Biobaku had his secondary education at Ebenezer Grammar School,Iberekodo and proceeded to the prestigious University of Ibadan where he acquired bachelor, master's and PhD degrees in Communication and Language. He is married with kids.
