Olanrewaju Emmanuel Ajiboye, a Professor of Social Gerontology, Gender and Development Studies at Lagos State University, is set to deliver the institution’s 121st inaugural lecture at the Ojo campus.
The lecture, titled “That We May Age Gracefully: A Social Gerontologist’s X-ray of Later Life,” reflects his years of research and advocacy on ageing, dignity, and social development.
He explained that the lecture will focus on how society can better support older adults to live meaningful, happy, and inclusive lives, stressing the need for families, government, and communities to care for the elderly.
The event, scheduled to hold at the Buba Maruwa Auditorium under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, marks an important milestone in his academic career and highlights his impact in research, mentorship, and community development, with colleagues praising his dedication and contributions to society.
