Daily Security Tips That Train Your Thinking
When a fire starts, the first few minutes can determine the outcome. Raise the alarm, evacuate everyone, call for help, and only attempt to fight a small fire if it is safe to do so. If the fire is large or producing heavy smoke, leave the premises immediately.
Always use the appropriate method for the type of fire. For wood, paper, and cloth, water or sand may be used. For cooking oil or gas fires, turn off the gas supply if it is safe to do so and smother the fire with a suitable lid or sand. Never use water on oil or gas fires.
For electrical fires, switch off the power source if it is safe to do so and use an appropriate fire extinguisher. Never apply water to an electrical fire.
A safety-conscious individual stays low when moving through smoke, covers the nose and mouth, and prepares to respond appropriately to small fires without putting lives at risk.
Quote: Equipping yourself with basic fire safety knowledge can save lives.
Just be good. Reflect. Stay alert.
