Ogun FOMWAN harps on Building Sustainable Islamic Homes as it decorated Engineer Femi Omotayo as Patron


The Federation of Muslim Women's Association In Nigeria , Ogun State Chapter is deeply  concerned about moral lazity in the society occsioned by high rate of broken homes.

Perhaps this explains the rationale behind chosing the topic " Building a sustainable Islamic  Homes : Concepts and Practices at the 6th Award of Excellence of the Assiciation held on Sunday, the 15th of March, 2020 at the Association's Secretariat , Leme , Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta.

The event which witnessed the investiture of the Chairman Ar-Rahman Foundation and an expert in the oil and gas industry, Engineer Femi Abdul Hamed Omotayo as Patron.




The 6th State Award of Excellence of the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria Ogun State Chapter accordingly   was another opportunity to appreciate the dedication and selfless service of some of the association's members and other eminent personalities  to the service of the assiciation and humanity at large.

The Guest Speaker, Hajia Adetula Aishat while delivering a sermon on the topic " Building  a Sustainable Islamic Home: Concept and Practices " enjoined parents to promote justice and ensure it is enshrined right from the home front.

According to her ,proper parenting is lacking in Islamic homes, thereby challenging parents to work more on parenting while  harping on the need for parents to allow their children to understand Islam. 


She identified service to Allah , Sincerity of purpose ,being steadfast in the service to God and humanity and the act of forgiveness  as some of the virtues parents must first imbibe and pass on to their children  if they are desirous of building a sustainable Islamic Home.

Earlier the Amirah of FOMWAN, Alhaja Kudirat Rabiu in her address observed that the awardees were carefully selected based on their dedication and commitment to the cause of FOMWAN and the society at large.


She said the topic " Building a Sustainable Islamic  Home: Concepts  and Practices"  was choosen  to address the break down of moral among Muslim children, especially due to the high rate of broken homes  by addressing the root cause.

She thereafter highlighted some of the activities of FOMWAN in Ogun State to include education and empowerment for the younger ones and the mothers, establishment of Modrasat ( Islamic Schools ) across the four sections of the state , delegate conference as well as concern about the welfare of members .

The newly decorated Patron of FOMWAN in Ogun State, Engineer Femi Omotayo in a remark promised to assist FOMWAN in actualising some of its objectives which centred on youth and women empowerment, promotion of Islamic education  among others.







Speaking in an interview , the iya Suna of Ogun State,  Alhaja Adebisi Edinosere a.k.a Cash Madam eulogises the newly decorated Patron, describing him as a worthy ambassador ,while saying that FOMWAN Ogun State has not made any mistake in chosing him as patron .

The event also witnessed the presentation of awards to other distinguished members of the Assiciation among whom  are the Iyaloja of Yewaland , Alhaja Anifat Oluyemisi Abass , Alhaja Ganiyat Akanke Raji, Alhaja Aishat Nurudeen Olusoji , Alhaja Basirat Alimi, Alhaja ( Mrs ) Ikeade Adegbesan , Alhaja Ramot Abike Adenuga ,Alhaja Fatimot Morounkeji Bashiru ,Alhaja Oyedele Memunat.



Others include Alhaja Ojedele Falilat Arike, Alhaja Rasheedat Omolara Balogun, Alhaja Fausat Ibiyinka Bolaji, Alhaja Bankole Muibat, Princess Adebisi Nofisat Idowu Amusa, Mrs Odunayo Afusat among others ...
