Sunday October 10th will forever be a date to be remembered by all and sundry in the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter and all over the world.
This is due to the fact that a committed Soldier of the cross named Barnabas Tunde Akin Akinsanya was consecrated to the office of a Bishop by the Calvary Grace International College of Bishops ably led by the Prelate, His Eminence, Bishop Francis Wale Oke and other Bishops.
The event which started by 2:p.m dot at Christ Life Church in Ibadan had in attendance great dignitaries from spiritual and secular circles.
Numerous senior clergies across the five blocs of CAN in Ogun and Nigeria
were in attendance.
Among them are the National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, His Eminence Reverend Dr Samson Olasupo A Oyekunle, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi and her husband, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, State Chairmen of C.A.N and P.F.N. and other Ministers of God.
De la creme from political circles were fully on ground and they were led by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR with some members of his cabinet which includes Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to Ogun State Government, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Her Excellency, the wife of the former President of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Obasanjo, Senator Obadara and other politicians graced the occasion.
Royal fathers in attendance were led by by the Chairman of Traditional Council in Ogun State, Akarigbo of Remo, His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi.
In his sermon the Prelate of the Calvary Grace International College of Bishops who is also the National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, His Grace Bishop Francis Wale Oke charged all to be thirsty after Holy spirit. He emphasized the place of God in our individual lives. He charged Nigerians to depend on God and allow Him to be in charge of the country, he said if God is given a chance there will be an end to banditry, insurgency and Boko Haram in the Land.
In his goodwill message, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR eulogized the celebrant by commending his dedication, cooperation and stint of hardwork in the body of Christ.
Goodwill messages too were delivered respectively by the Akarigbo of Remo and Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi.
The Kabiyesi said 'Bishop Tunde Akin Akinsanya is a symbol of integrity, cum the face of CAN in Ogun State' while Revered Mother Esther Ajayi appreciated the astute administrator on his unbiased attitude to any denomination in the body of Christ.
In his remarks, the newly consecrated Bishop appreciated the whole house for their show of love.
The programme came to an end around 5:45 p.m with closing prayer and benediction taken by the Prelate of the Calvary Grace International College of Bishops, His Eminence Bishop Francis Wale Oke.
It was indeed a great day of reward for this great erudite Administrator.
No wonder the scripture got fulfilled in his life on his day of consecration which says that "This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach". I Timothy 3 : 1-2.
Good number of people watch live within and outside the country.
Congratulations to a humble administrator par excellence on this new level.
