"When you’re good to others, you’re best to yourself." -  Benjamin Franklin.

We bless God for the dawn of another beautiful day. We are basing our nugget of Wisdom today on the above quote. 

Being good to yourself is not selfishness and you can be good to others only when you are good to yourself.

You can be good to yourself by stop blaming yourself for everything, making yourself a priority, taking a stand for yourself, doing what you love and many more. And, when you do same to others, you are helping yourself either.

Let us expand it further, have you heard of the saying, what goes round comes around?.

Sometimes, when people do good to  others, they tended to believe that they are helping others...No, you are invariably or indirectly helping yourself. When you help others solve a problem, you have just achieved something new.  You have just discovered soluton to a problem and you have learnt a great lesson that will help you tackle similar challenge or task In the future. 

Because, of the saying that one good turn deserves another, you may eventually get fully rewarded for helping others. And, what you get may be unimaginable...Yes, what you get in return might be much more than what you had invested.

This is because, sometimes, people  wait until they see what you have to offer and whether you are going to be selfish with the little you have or know before opening up your eyes to other areas of benefits which you might not know or came across. So, when you extend a a hand to others, you may be opening the floodgate of limitless opportunities for yourself without knowing it..

We have heard stories of people who helped somebody else sometimes in life and the other person later came around to bless the person, evwn in a more resounding way. LIFE is a double edge sword, which swings left and right and in whatever direction, it pleases.

I was at a clinic one ofnthese days and two of the nurses on duty made this submission, " The way you do other people's  job is the same way you will do your own". As if I have never heard of that saying before, it strucked me and I had to ruminate again on it..

Yes, if you serve your master well, you will serve yourself better, because through serving him, you have discovered some tricks that will help you to serve yourself better in future..

Making sacrifice for others is not foolishness, it is being responsible and being sensitive to other people's plight and believing that life isn't about me and me alone. Live and let live. When you serve others, you are invaluable serving yourself. This is because, much  more later in future, you have gained good lessons that will make you to achieve a breakthrough life.

Let me also say this, most  people when they hear about Volunteeeing, they tended to disdain it because of the less attraction in terms of gains in it.  But sometimes, when we dig deeper, behind that facade of Volunteering, there are limitless opportunities that can turn around fortunes and have indeed turned around fortunes.  

Those who always look for the pecuniary gains in all that they do ,may eventually not get the reward of selfless service , because the reward of  personal development is not pronounced, but will eventually come .
